Pre-Emergent Weed Control

Pre-emergent treatments stop weeds at the seed stage, before you ever see them. We put down a liquid barrier in late winter or early spring, before weed growing season starts.

  • Prevents roughly 60 kinds of weeds, including crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, dandelion, and purslane
  • Optional fall treatment in October or early November for cheatgrass and other winter weeds

Post-Emergent Weed Control

Post-emergent sprays go after weeds that are already up and growing. They’re selective, so they hit the weed and leave the grass alone.

We treat dandelions, clover, bull thistle, mallow, plantain, puncturevine (goatheads), black medic, yellow nutsedge, henbit, and spurge.

Our Weed Control Program

Our weed control service is a 5-step program. Our agronomist watches soil temperature and the weather, and our licensed spray technicians treat your property when the timing is right.

  1. February to March: pre-emergent to block crabgrass, broadleaf weeds, and other summer weeds
  2. April to May: post-emergent for dandelions and clover, plus more pre-emergent
  3. June to July: post-emergent for summer weeds like spurge and goatheads
  4. Late summer: spot spraying for weeds that are hanging on
  5. Fall: spot spraying for late-season weeds

We treat your entire property, including rock beds, xeriscape, and cracks in driveways and walkways. Between full treatments, we spot spray new weeds as they come up.

Have a bare lot? We can spray the whole lot to clear out everything growing on it. Pair weed control with our lawn fertilization program for a thicker lawn that crowds out weeds.

What Homeowners Are Saying

We called Cory’s after purchasing a home in Sparks that had been vacant for most of the year. The yard was completely overrun with weeds. All the landscaping had terrible overgrowth and the bushes were out of control. Cory’s did a full cleanup, mowing, fertilizer, and weed control spraying over a few different visits. They did phenomenal! You can’t even tell it’s the same place!!

We decided to try out Cory's weed service package this summer. What a difference it has made! We usually have so many weeds and because of their service it has saved us so much time. We even had a problem area with some horrible crab grass, and the gentlemen (can't remember his name unfortunately) as soon as I mentioned possibility spraying it he said no problem. We will definitely be using this service every year! So worth it!

Weed Control FAQs

How much does weed control cost?

The price depends on the size of your property and the treatments it needs. Request a quote and we’ll price your yard.

How soon will I see results?

After a post-emergent spray, weeds usually start to curl within a few days to a week. Tough weeds may need a second treatment. Pre-emergent works out of sight, so the sign it’s working is crabgrass that never shows up.

What if it rains after a treatment?

Rain helps pre-emergent soak into the soil. Post-emergent sprays need to dry on the leaves, so we time visits around the forecast.
